Join the ICBC at the Cannabis Science Conference in Portland
Cannabis science is one of the foundations of the legalization movement as knowledge of the plant has helped dispel Reefer Madness myth after myth over the past decades. Scientific research led to medical cannabis laws as researchers have publicized the wide range of medicinal uses and health benefits of the plant will countering the unfounded fearmongering of prohibitionists. Cannabis science has been needlessly stymied by federal law, but a ton of progress has been made and the movement is poised for great scientific developments in the near future.
Events such as the Cannabis Science Conference in Portland this week (August 28-29) are so important for the cause and the International Cannabis Business Conference (ICBC) is proud to be a sponsor. Join us as the Cannabis Science Conference kicks off on Tuesday, August 28th with a keynote address by the renowned expert Dr. David Meiri, head of the Laboratory of Cancer Biology and Cannabinoid Research at the Technion Integrated Cancer Center (TICC) which works toward developments in cancer treatment. Dr. Meiri will be discussing the science behind the “entourage effect,” a concept publicized to the masses by CNN’s Dr. Sanjay Gupta.
There are many highlights to the Cannabis Science conference, including actress Fran Drescher sharing her journey from cancer patient to cannabis advocate; the August 29th “Making Cannabis Better and Safer” keynote by Dr. Ethan Russo, Director of Research and Development of the International Cannabis and Cannabinoids Institute (ICCI); and a personal favorite of mine, the “Doc and Jocks” panel that includes all-time Portland Trail Blazers great Clifford Robinson. But no matter your interest in cannabis, the Cannabis Science Conference has something interesting for you. See you there!
