Now, she wants to continue the research to further her concept of “Spiritumanity™” which follows through the contributions of Jung, Laszlo, James, Maslow, Rogers, etc. Like them, she wants to determine the degree of connectedness between brain, heart and all the body systems and in how we conduct our universal flow of energy based on the energetic processes of the body, such as, what our bodies’ sense from the universe and how we feel about it thus determining our thoughts, views and consciousness in how we conduct our everyday lives. Desiree wants to turn knowledge into wisdom, so she’s taking all that she has learned and continues to learn, and integrating it in mind, body and spirit – For people to be inspired and to experience the magic of holistic heart-based optimum health and wellness!

Douglas Mignola

Douglas Mignola

Douglas Mignola

Founder & Principal – T.H.Seeds®, FRESHEMP®, Hemp Works®

Douglas Mignola is a pioneer of the modern cannabis movement and the founder of several influential cannabis and hemp brands, including T.H.Seeds®, Hemp Works®, and Hemp Hoodlamb® (now FRESHEMP®).

Raised in Northern California and educated at university there, Douglas relocated to Amsterdam in the early 1990s following the Savings & Loan crisis. It was there that he helped change the global perception of cannabis by opening the High Times Cannabis Cup to the public—an event that allowed people from around the world to experience cannabis freedom firsthand. This cultural shift played a meaningful role in accelerating the medical cannabis movement, first in San Francisco and later across California.

Under Douglas’s leadership and creative direction, T.H.Seeds® became internationally known for developing iconic cultivars such as BubbleGum, S.A.G.E.®, MK-Ultra, Kushage, and Underdawg, earning numerous Cannabis Cup awards through close collaboration with dedicated breeders across multiple eras of the company. These cultivars helped establish early standards not only for quality and effect, but also for brand recognition—something largely overlooked in today’s medical cannabis markets. T.H.Seeds® genetics were embraced by patients and advocates alike, most famously “Brownie Mary,” who favored S.A.G.E.® for patients because it stimulated appetite without excessive lethargy.

Over the past decade, Douglas has focused T.H.Seeds® on medical cannabis genetics and brand-led licensing, supporting licensed producers in North Macedonia, Switzerland, Greece, and Portugal. Cultivars such as Stracciatella®, La S.A.G.E®, Strawberry Glue, Banana Krushed, and French Cookies have consistently achieved 30%+ THC, while maintaining terpene profiles aligned with specific medical use cases.

Douglas is a strong advocate for the role of brands in medical cannabis, arguing that patients behave like consumers in every other industry: they recognize names, trust proven brands, and are willing to pay a premium for consistency and familiarity. In his view, cannabis should not be reduced to generic labels or simplistic categories like indica or sativa. His work is rooted in a “know your customer” philosophy—combining genetics, branding, and education to deliver predictable outcomes for patients. Today, T.H.Seeds® continues to expand its medical cultivar library, partnering with producers who understand that strong genetics matter—but trusted brands matter just as much.
