Germany’s Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (BfArM) publishes quarterly medical cannabis import data and often revises initially reported totals. Historically, previously reported quarterly totals are revised when new quarterly data is published. The most recently published data is for Q1 2026, which BfArM originally reported back in May.

While data for Q2 2026 has yet to be published, BfArM recently revised the Q1 2026 total, which now sets a new record. According to BfArM, 67.569 tonnes of medical cannabis products were imported into Germany from other countries in Q1 2026, a dramatic increase from the initially reported 50.539 tonnes. Previously reported totals for Q3 2025 and Q4 2025 were also revised, again, albeit only slightly:

Germany’s medical cannabis industry growth continues to dominate. The import totals are in addition to domestically produced medical cannabis, which itself is increasing quarter after quarter. Germany’s medical cannabis industry also exports medical cannabis to other countries, although the totals are exponentially less compared to imports.
