The evolution of cannabis products in recent years has been significant, particularly in the concentrates and edibles sectors. As European markets shift from medical to adult-use, the coming years will likely witness the current 100% flower market transitioning to a 50/50 mix of extracts and flower, similar to what has occurred in legal North American markets.
European Union markets, prioritizing what many lawmakers consider to be ‘safer’ consumption, may see an even higher ratio of extract-derived products like vapes and edibles compared to other legal markets found around the world.
Creating cannabis products for European markets was a major topic at the recent International Cannabis Business Conference in Berlin. A panel of experts provided an overview of the different methods used to make cannabis extracts, discussed the benefits and drawbacks of each method, and provided insights about which cannabis concentrates and edible product types hold the most profit potential.
