The Future Of German Cannabis Policies
The Future Of German Cannabis Policies
Germany is the leading continental force in advancing modern European cannabis laws. The country’s legal medical cannabis base is the largest in Europe, and Germany is also the most populous nation on the planet to adopt national recreational cannabis use.
Despite serving as a model for the rest of Europe, Germany’s cannabis policy advances continue to face opposition within domestic political circles. A panel of policy experts recently dove into the current political battles going on in Germany and offered up their insights into what the future of German cannabis policies will entail at the International Cannabis Business Conference in Berlin.
The panel was moderated by Constantin von der Groeben, co-Founder of Demecan. He is also a board member of the German Cannabis Business Association (BvCW). Constantin von der Groeben was joined by:
- Burkhard Blienert – Senior Advisor of the BPC; Former Federal Drug Commissioner and Member of Parliament
- Kai-Friedrich Niermann – Founder, KFN+ Law Office
- Benedikt Sons – Co-Founder and CEO, Cansativa Group
- Dr. Jan Rasmus Ludwig – Partner, BRP Renaud, and Partner, MBB
- Franziska Katterbach – Attorney at Law, Oppenhoff
