Senator Will Espero

Senator Will Espero has represented Ewa Beach and has served in the Hawaii legislature since 2000. He served 3 years in the House of Representatives and 15 years in the State Senate. He is currently the Senate Majority Floor Leader for the Senate and the chairman of the Housing Committee. He is also vice-chairman of the Transportation and Energy Committee, and serves on the Education Committee, Higher Education Committee, and the Commerce, Consumer Protection & Housing Committee.
Prior to elected office, Senator Espero worked under Mayor Frank Fasi for 8 years as the executive secretary of the Neighborhood Commission in charge of Oahu's Neighborhood Board System. He graduated from Seattle University with a BA in Business Management. His private sector background includes property management and finance.
Senator Espero served on the Medical Marijuana Dispensary System Task Force from 2014 - 2015. He currently is also a member of the Medical Cannabis Legislative Oversight Working Group created in 2016. His short-term objectives include expanding the list of ailments of and allowing the sale of edibles for the medical cannabis program.
In 2015, Senator Espero was a key legislator involved in the passage of the medical marijuana dispensary bill. He was the lead senator on HB3212 when the measure was ultimately passed. Senator Espero supports an expansion of Hawaii's medical cannabis program and the legalization of a highly regulated marijuana industry in order to raise additional revenues for the state. He is also an advocate for establishing a hemp industry in Hawaii.

Jamie Shaw

Jamie Shaw is both a former Director and Spokeswoman of the BC Compassion Club Society (BCCCS), and served three terms on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association of Medical Cannabis Dispensaries (CAMCD), two and a half of those as President, where she lobbied successfully for the first dispensary regulations in Canada. Jamie was a co-founder of the first Canadian chapter of Women Grow in Vancouver, and her writing on various cannabis issues can be found regularly on the Canadian resource site Canlio.
